Come spend time at the Assistant Keepers house and act as a docent while staying on the shores of Lake Huron!!! This unique opportunity gives you a chance to learn about the history of the lighthouse, and be a part of its legacy.
In 1908, a second residence near the lighthouse was built that served as the assistant keeper’s house. The house was used as the seasonal residence of the Lighthouse County Park manager for the last several years. It has now been refurbished for use in PABLS’ “Assistant Keeper Program.”
The Assistant Keeper Program provides a great opportunity for lighthouse enthusiasts. Your group of two to four adults can spend a week or more staying in the assistant keeper’s house overlooking the scenic shores of Lake Huron and helping us as a “Lighthouse Keeper.” The cost is $100 per person per week, plus your agreement to provide volunteer services.
The 2022 Assistant Keeper Program is available from July through September. Please see the program Information Sheet, Handbook and Application for more information.
Please review the attached forms for more information on the program. If you are interested in serving in the program, please fill out the application and email it to mimiherrington@comcast.net
